Boudoir + Brewery = Brewdoir
Some of your best ideas come to you in the middle of the night, in the shower or behind the wheel. The problem is, will these ideas ever be remembered when you wake up, finish getting ready for the day or after you have made it safely to your destination? If these ideas have made it to the remembering stage, will they still be good ideas and will they ever come to fruition?
Well, after a night of tossing and turning with an idea, waking up and still thinking it was an o.k. idea and talking to people about the said idea, the concept of the Brewdoir Experience was born! Who knew that this was a type of photography was that difficult to find on google?
I had a sit down with the amazing president and co-owner of Pollyanna Brewery, Paul and pitched my crazy idea over a delicious glass of Mazzie beer on their outdoor patio. Of course, he questioned my sanity but also wanted to allow me to pursue my dreams in this gorgeous space he and his team have created. I then asked my friend, Melody, who you already know as my super fun and energetic soul of a friend and asked if she and her husband would model for me. She said yes for the both of them without even knowing what they were jumping into. LOL
We went into this both having had the worst year of our lives (medical reasons) and came out feeling refreshed and ready to take on anything! This was such a great experience and brought us even closer together. – Melody & Dan
We then spent an evening shooting these promo photos and video, shared stories and laughter over Pollyanna’s finest of beers. I rented the space for two nights, this January, to offer one hour sessions for individuals and/or couples to come in for these sessions. I have had the best time working in this space and getting to be creative with having women climb up onto the bar, draping themselves over the barrels and enjoying themselves as they take risks and conquer their fears. These sessions have been gifted at Christmas to significant others and will be a surprise for soon to be husbands the night before their wedding day. I cannot wait to hear how these gifts are received, I know they already are some of my favorite photos and each client has been a dream to work with.
As you get to know me better through social media and blog posts, you will start to realize that I believe that life is way too short not to take risks, go for those crazy ideas you have and to try something that no one else has ever tried before. Even if these ideas fail terribly, we look completely crazy attempting them or feel ridiculous and silly doing them, we will have an amazing time going for it rather than having regret.
What is something that you have gone for even though it scared you to do it? Have you ever regretted not doing something?
